
On Sunday, December 18th 2022, and on the behalf of the Algerian Veterinary Space, EVA Vice-President in charge of Foreign Affairs Dr. Anis Bouraba has signed a partnership convention with the International Student One Health Alliance represented by its’ President Dr. Kristina Almazidou.
The International Student One Health Alliance (ISOHA) is an international organization run by students and gathering all Health Specialties Students and Agriculture under One Health Frame and missions across the globe. ISOHA aims to connect students worldwide to join in the One Health movement. As such, ISOHA strives to provide education and facilitate collaboration to inspire and prepare the future leaders of One Health. ISOHA also aims to establish, connect, and maintain One Health student groups worldwide. The vision of ISOHA is described by their leaders to “Achieve true transdisciplinary approaches to health and eliminate traditional silos between health science and practice fields”.
The purpose of this convention is to create the framework for cooperation that will enable each organisation to benefit from the common activities in their respective strategies. The agreement between the two organizations is intended to serve as a guideline for both EVA and ISOHA to enhance their relationship for the benefit of both organizations, establishing the points and areas where both associations can coordinate activities and initiatives based on mutual interests.
Through this partnership, EVA and ISOHA will aim to fulfill their mutual goals exposed in:
Educating and connecting students to prepare them for entrance into an interdisciplinary global workforce.
Promoting, disseminating, developing, implementing and maintaining multidisciplinary research using the One Health approach to address priority regional and national problems.
Promoting interactions, development and integration between the veterinary, medical and environmental professions to protect and improve the health of the animal and human population and the ecosystem where they coexist
Promoting, disseminating, developing, implementing, researching, designing strategies and participating in activities oriented to the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations Organization.
Both Organization have agreed to sign a four years partnership that is expected to end by December 18th, 2026 and is open for any renewal.
